Role Summary
Our client has an opportunity for an experienced accountant for this key role, working within their Global Tax and Statutory reporting team at the Reading office. This is a fixed term contract to support the existing Tax & Statutory reporting team to complete a significant backlog in statutory accounts filings.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the completion of financial statements and statutory audits including:
•     Preparing extended trial balances from the accounting records.
•     Preparing and reviewing financial statements.
•     Reviewing accounts balances and identifying and obtaining supporting documentation for financial statements and audits.
•     Obtaining information from ERP systems (predominantly Agresso but also Oracle from time to time).
•     Preparing and reviewing reconciliations.
•     Preparing and reviewing journals.
•     Liaising with external providers to agree timetables and information requirements.
•     Managing the audit process to ensure completion in a timely manner.
•     Responding to accounts queries from external auditors.
•     Assisting with the submission of financial statements to local authorities.
Job Requirements
•     Experienced in accounts preparation and review.
•     Good technical accounting awareness (although not essential, an accounting qualification or currently studying for a qualification would be an advantage).
•     Experienced in dealing with statutory audits.
•     Experienced using ERP systems.
•     Strong IT skills with advanced Excel skills.
•     Demonstrates a proactive "can-do” attitude and can "think outside the box”.
